US citizens need a passport valid for at least 6 months following your return date
You will need to use a taxi from the airport (~$40-50, including tip). Taxi drivers line up outside the customs exit. We recommend bringing cash because not all accept card.
Renting a car is not necessary if you are staying at or close to February Point, since we will be providing the transportation for each event throughout the weekend. However, if you are planning to do your own excursions, travel to different restaurants, you may consider renting. We recommend Thompson's Car Rental, Don's Car Rental, Berlie's Car Rental (at the airport, advance reservations required). If you plan any tours/ excursions, ask the tour company to provide transportation to and from your hotel/ villa. Please note, taxis on the island need advance notice on when you will need a ride. There are no ubers/ lyfts on the island.
*** Yes, but very limited ones. The closest is Exuma Market in George Town. For those renting villas in February Point, they can stock your villa for you before you arrive for a fee plus the cost of the groceries. ***Note food and alcohol are limited and expensive from grocery stores, we recommend checking some in your bag as needed.*
You can use US dollars or Bahamian dollars, most take USD. The exchange rate is 1:1. Taking out cash before your visit is recommended. Having cash makes it easier at most places. There are ATMs on the island, but few.
We love your kids, but are kindly requesting no kids at the wedding events.
You definitely can (it's about 15 minutes), but it is along a busy road with no sidewalk. We recommend using the provided transportation or hiring a cab for moving around the island.
