We have good old online dating to thank. We both swiped right and the rest is history.
Matt’s point of view: I have a problem keeping secrets and I don’t care for procrastination. So when the ring finally arrived after a 3 month process, I just didn't want to wait any longer. The next day on Wednesday, July 22 I decided it was time. Since we enjoy long walks, I convinced Kelly to go for a nice four mile stroll where I could pop the question at a park in downtown Arlington Heights. I found the perfect spot in front of the fountain, and got down on one knee. I asked Kelly to be my wife and she said yes through tears of joy. Kelly’s point of view: Another four mile walk. The things I do for this man… I didn’t think much of it, since it’s a common occurrence for us- we just did a 12 mile walk “for fun!” But all I wanted to do on this particular night after work was read my book and enjoy the summer night. I agreed to go on the walk on our usual route through the neighborhoods and the downtown area. Immediately, I could tell something was off. He wasn't his usual chatterbox self. By the time we got to North School Park, I just had a feeling our story would change forever. I couldn’t have been more excited. Matt got down on one knee and asked me to be his *wife*.
