Conveniently close to the venue and one of our go-to date night spots is this avenue of shops. Grab a scoop from Salt & Straw (our favorite ice cream), and try Alex’s signature boba order at TPumps: Watermelon, Passionfruit Lychee Green Tea with Honey Boba. Our favorite lunch spot here is Crepevine.
A tourist trap but very SF nonetheless. An array of shops, attractions and restaurants on the pier. We love the Biscoff Café (a nod to Delta and long-distance), and of course, a warm clam chowder bread bowl from Boudin hits the spot. Take some time to admire the sun bathing sea lions on the docks, explore the Aquarium of the Bay, and visit the vintage arcade Musee Mechanique.
A must-see for first-time visitors. Alex toured this old prison with his dad the weekend we matched on Hinge! Tip: The night tour is said to be extra spooky.
So much to do here and over 1000 acres. Go paddle boating at Stow Lake, wander the Japanese Tea Garden, and explore the California Academy of Sciences Museum. Fun fact: Our engagement photos were taken at the nearby Palace of Fine Arts, a beautiful Greco-Roman-style dome built for the 1915 World’s Fair.
Most unique way to get around the city! Hop on and off a cable car at any stop. Pay easily with the MuniMobile app, a Clipper card (loadable through your Apple Wallet), or at an in person ticketing station. Then just hang on and enjoy the views as you rattle through the hills.
Personal favorite date night is going to an SF Giants game. One of the most picturesque stadiums with an insane variety of food! There isn’t a bad view in this stadium. Load up on gilroy garlic fries and try the crab sandwich. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, rent a kayak during game day and try your luck at catching a splash hit!
Around 30 miles south of San Francisco, visit the beautiful Stanford campus and enjoy a little shopping at the upscale outdoor mall next door. Peaceful and very “California.”
Start at the Ferry Building in SF, browse the gourmet shops, then catch a scenic ferry to Sausalito. It’s full of cute boutiques and waterfront seafood restaurants. It rained during our trip but we still loved it!
Baker beach is where we took our engagement beach photos. Both locations offer amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge!
SF’s Little Italy offers charming cafes, authentic Italian eateries, and unique shops.
The marina district, fun to frequent at night, has tons of bars. Grab an espresso martini at Balboa Cafe or head to Westwood to ride the mechanical bull.
Yes, it’s a Taco Bell, but this one’s on the beach! World famous location in Pacifica, roughly 20 minutes from our venue. Hammy used to be a regular.
Alex’s favorite Italian spot. Closest location to venue is in Daly City, but you can also go to the original in North Beach, SF. Get the spicy rigatoni, chicken parm, and you absolutely have to end the meal with the butter cake. You can thank us later.
A hole-in-the-wall gem known for massive, flavor-packed sandwiches. We’re obsessed with the chicken salad and tri-tip BBQ. Please don’t skip the garlic spread! Pro tip: Take your sando to Golden Gate Park for a perfect picnic.
Deep-dish perfection! Great casual option for anyone staying nearby the venue.
Iconic SF cafe/bar, opened in 1916, known for its world famous Irish coffee!
Classic, old-school steakhouse with the best prime rib in the game. We scored a reservation once and we still talk about it. Book way way ahead!
A longtime family favorite for cart service dim sum. Everything is delicious and shareable. Peep excited Alex in the photo!
Located in North Beach district, SF. This hole in the wall, open late nights establishment serves thick, square slices and is a cult favorite for a reason. The garlic clam slice sounds weird but trust us, it slaps.
In Pacifica by the beachy Taco Bell. This one’s right on the water and serves an iconic crab sandwich!
About 1.5 hours away, but worth the drive if you love wine. Napa valley is scenic and the winery mecca of California. Visit Castello di Amorosa, a legit castle with the best rosé ever: La Fantasia.
If you’re making a long weekend of it, head two hours south for seaside charm, tide pools, cute cottage style shops, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Now if you’ve really got some time to spend in the area, Lake Tahoe, Nevada is located 3.5 hours from the Bay Area. Lake Tahoe offers a picturesque lake, mountains, casinos, restaurants (including Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen), and so much more!
