Courtney and Wanetta ran track together for the U.S.V.I. In 2007 they became irresistible after meeting each other for the first time at a track meet. Wanetta supplied the rice krispies for midnight munchies and Courtney was the only athlete that stayed back to cheer Wanetta on in the heptathlon.

Best Man
Darius is Gaftie's friend for 10 over years (now Wanetta's friend). These two enjoy traveling and running marathons together.
James Williams
Groom
James and Gaftie have been friends for over 30 years. Both growing up in the Ashford neighborhood of Ft. Washington, MD and attending elementary, middle school and high school together. More than friends, they are brothers. James is a part of the brotherhood of the now 13 Ashford men who all grew up together.

Layla is Wanetta's (now Gaftie's) niece.
