Wande and Deji’s story actually started way before either of us realized it would become our story. We first met in elementary school, back when life was mostly about recess, snacks, and trying not to get in trouble in class. Our families became friends, and we grew up around each other, just two kids whose paths crossed early in life. Then, like many childhood friendships, life happened. Different schools, different paths, different seasons. We went our separate ways and didn’t really expect that our story still had another chapter waiting. Fast forward many years to August 2024… when Wande decided to do what every great modern love story requires: slide into Deji’s Instagram DMs. What started as a simple message quickly turned into long conversations, lots of laughter, and the realization that the friendship and respect we had for each other all those years ago never really went away. It had just been waiting for the right time to come back. Somewhere between catching up, joking around, and realizing how easy it was to talk to each other, we discovered something pretty special. The friendship that started when we were kids had grown into something much deeper. And now, here we are; excited, grateful, and still laughing together. Getting ready to say “I do” on August 1st, 2026.
