Wally: "I'm not sure what made me decide to physically bump into Wade in Whole Foods last May and I'm not sure if he even fully recognized me as I was sporting a pretty terrible 3 month beard at that time. That moment led to an incredible summer and joining the Covenant community on the youth staff and meeting my best friend, Emily. After a few weeks of letting my crush on Emily grow and grow, I made up my mind to ask her on a date once my internship at Covenant ended in two months. Instead, a week later I couldn't wait so I nervously asked Emily to dinner (I do not remember my words, she said yes). It's been such a privilege to get to know and love Emily since that first date and working together last summer. Seeing Emily's contagious love for the Lord and how well she loves and pours into those around her has me feeling like the luckiest guy on earth. I'm incredibly thankful for how she challenges, loves and encourages me, and can not wait to celebrate the first moment of our marriage with all of our people." Emily: "after looking tirelessly for a summer volunteer for the youth group I work for, my right hand, Wade Holmes, bumped into his former student Wally at Whole Foods weeks before our summer started. (God? that you?) Within the week Wally signed up to help us out! There are so many details of that summer I hold onto with a really tight grip because they feel, and are, so significant. We met and Wally was very quiet our first conversation, but within a few weeks he began asking me so many silly questions and doing endearing things, like falling...a lot. Getting to know him was really fun, and falling in love with him was honestly just such a gift. I feel honored that I'm the one who gets to love and be loved by Wally. We are my favorite story ever!"
