FAQs

If you have any other questions, please reach out to Sarah or Alex!
Question

Why am I on this website?

Answer

Because we love you! And we can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Why Waitsfield, VT?

Answer

Vermont is a very special place for both of us... Sarah was lucky to grow up surrounded by the beauty of the Mad River Valley, thanks to her Grammy and Grampa who for decades had a beautiful home here. Sarah's parents got engaged and married up here, and Alex's Grammy and Zadie used to visit Vermont every year on their anniversary. We were so excited to come back and visit in September of 2024, and Alex planned his proposal for the same weekend. We got engaged on a dirt road in front of a beautiful covered bridge and celebrated with a weekend of all things Vermont. We are so grateful we get to be married in such a special place.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have blocks available and encourage you to book ASAP as the Valley is nearly full already! Visit our "Travel & Lodging" page to see our three inn blocks, as well as other recommended inns and hotels! All info is on our "Travel & Lodging" page.

Question

What's the deal with food?

Answer

We are a food-loving, allergy-aware family. This will be a peanut- and tree-nut-free wedding. Please be kind to the lovely couple and refrain from bringing nuts or peanuts with you — snacks, drinks, or otherwise — so we can have a joyful and safe weekend. We will also accommodate other dietary needs, including folks with celiac and who are dairy free. Please share any dietary needs in your RSVP.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the inns on wedding day?

Answer

Yes! A wedding day shuttle bus will run between our inn blocks and venue on wedding day! It will run at 3 pm to get folks to the ceremony, and again later in the evening, at 9 pm, 10 pm, and 11:30 pm to get you home safely. More info to come!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal attire with whimsical, creative flair. We encourage you to dress up - dresses, suits and ties, jumpsuits, and skirts that make you feel your most festive and fabulous!

Question

What should I expect the weather to be like?

Answer

We think September in Vermont is the most beautiful time of the year — but Vermont can have any type of weather at any time! It will likely be warm out during the day, but you can expect it will be cool at night. Unless there is rain, our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside. You might want a cover-up or jacket just in case.

Question

Will your wedding be accessible?

Answer

Yes! We will have dedicated support for our loved ones with mobility needs throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
