Brandon and Emily first met (ages 15 and 16) at a weekly pizza night at Papa Saverio's. Emily's best friends from her brother's Boy Scout troop were Brandon's best friends from high school. Emily and her dad had pizza every week with these friends and their dads. One week, Jordan brought Brandon to pizza. Emily never really spoke more than two sentences at a time to Brandon. That was, until a mutual friend's wedding... Emily hadn't RSVP'd to the wedding, so she technically wasn't supposed to be there. She got a call from her mom asking to come, so she drove from Green Bay over to Wausau. A few (many...) drinks later, the mother of the groom mentioned that the two of them should dance together! They did, and started talking. They haven't really stopped since. The rest, as they say, is history!
On October 30th, Emily was home from Green Bay for a Halloween party that Brandon's parents were throwing. She started helping set up when she started to get hangry and irritated that Brandon hadn't done anything for the Gomez and Morticia costume they had planned. Brandon decided that it was time to take her to Target, that always makes her happy! They explored Target, and Brandon got Emily a book that she had been wanting and a new party game. After Target, the two went to Petco to look at their reptiles, and Emily cried because she really wanted all the reptiles. Once they got back to the farm, Lindsay was there to go to the apple orchard with the two of them! Emily was just excited to get caramel apples, her favorite fall treat. Brandon suggested they take a fall photo shoot, just like they had taken a spring photo shoot a year ago. Emily was a bit unsure, as she wasn't dressed for a photo shoot, but went with it anyways. After taking a few photos in the rows of trees, they went back to a gorgeous spot overlooking a lake. It was just hitting sunset, and Brandon suggested they take some photos there, including a silhouette of Emily. When Emily turned back around to suggest Brandon be in the photo, he was on one knee, already crying. Emily's first reaction was "are you serious right now?", but obviously she said yes after that!
