Our love story began back in 2016. We matched on Tinder (a dating app) while Tyler was on tour with his Portland, OR based band, Fruition. Tyler messaged me to meet at his show at The Rex in the Southside and I thought, why not? After the show, the band came back to my house to hang. Keep in mind I had just purchased my house and the only furniture inside was a couch and a loveseat. Since this was the first official hang at my new house, Tyler and his bandmate Jay decided to play a different Beatles songs in each empty room as a sort of “christening”. Now having watched Tyler play rock 'n' roll drums at the show and now playing the songs of my family's favorite band on banjo, you might say I was smitten and had to make an extra effort to see this west coast boy as much as possible. A couple of years later after a long-distance relationship together, Tyler asked if he could just start calling Carnegie, PA home. I of course agreed and now together we have made, what was an empty house, a home full of music, art, good cookin', pool parties, a cat, a dog, lots of family, and non-stop laughter.

One random night at home, Tyler asked me if I wanted to grab a bite to eat in the city and check out a Christmas Pop-Up bar afterward. Anyone that knows me well, knows Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I was absolutely into the idea. As we were driving through downtown Pittsburgh we passed the giant Christmas tree at the PPG Place ice rink. Tyler said, "Wouldn't it be fun to go ice skating after dinner?" So after a great meal and a stiff holiday drink, we had the courage to go ice skating for the first time since we were both teenagers. We made fools of ourselves on the ice, but of course had a blast. When we arrived at home and Tyler went into the kitchen and said, "Hey, come look at this!". I walked in he pointed to the mistletoe on the light above him and got down on one knee and surprised me with a ring I never knew about. The rest is history! We often talk about how crazy it is this superficial dating app brought us together! Tyler always says, "5 stars for Tinder" and I couldn't agree more! So that's why we decided to make our signature wedding hashtag: #shamelesstindermatch Thank you for your ongoing love and support.
