Our Engagement Story

His Side:

Well to start, I have to say thank goodness this woman said yes. I started to shop around for rings a month and a half before our scheduled vacation. I had time to plan how I was going to propose, and wouldn’t you know it I still had no idea by time it was a week away. The day we left, I waited for Taylor to get off work and had the car packed and ready to go when I picked her up. The whole ride down I was quiet and not my usual self. I just made small talk for all I had on my mind is how am I going to make this perfect? We got to the beach and I was glad to finally be there. Taylor began unpacking, so I reached into my bag to get our friends to hold the ring in case Taylor needed to go in my bag. The plan was to see the sunrise-- I could not hold this in much longer. The next morning took some persuading, and I mean A LOT of it because Taylor does not like to get up before the sun! I promised to go ahead and get the coffee maker ready so she could have a cup. I remember clear as day I was all over the place that morning I had never been this nervous, pacing as she got ready. She was almost TOO ready and I thought she had caught on but she hadn't. I got the ring and put the box in my pocket, keeping her to my left so she wouldn't see it. We set off to the beach to see the sunrise over the ocean it picture perfect! I suggested we take some photos and made sure it was a good view. I told her this was my favorite place to be with her. I got the courage to ask her if she would want to do this for the rest of her life with me. She said of course so I pulled the ring out and dropped down on one knee and asked her if she would marry me. It felt like an eternity before she dropped down to hug me. She had her happy cry and smile that is by far my favorite and I put the ring on her finger. I asked her “so that's a yes right?” and she just laughed. Will always be one of my most cherished moments I will ever have. I cannot wait to say “I do” to this beautiful woman of mine.

Our Engagement Story

Her Side:

I noticed on our drive down to the Outer Banks the Day before, he seemed a little on edge. I just chalked it up to a long drive with my music choices! We got down to the beach a little later than expected so we met our friends Dan and Lauren at the house and we went off to dinner. At dinner, Daniel warned me not to drink too much because he wanted to see the sunrise the next morning. We checked the time, and the sun was set to rise around 6 AM! I thought he was crazy. I didn't want to set an alarm the first day of our vacation! So the next morning comes and sure enough, he is dragging me out of bed at 530. I told him i needed coffee ao he had to wait for me to brew a pot. I sat and drink my cup with Dan and Lauren in the kitchen while Daniel paced the house. I asked what was wrong and he stated he was looking for the anti-acids! We walked down to the beach (i complained the whole time) where Daniel suggested taking some pictures together in front of the sunrise. He then starts telling me how much he loves me and looks me in the eye and asked if i could “do this forever” with him. That caught me. I started to put it together when he dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him all while Dan and Lauren took photos and filmed it!
