Oh boy... where do we even start? We met freshman year—during COVID where the only way to really meet anyone was outside. Jack was playing Spikeball with a bunch of friends, and Sam was sitting with her friends nearby. At some point, the ball rolled over toward her. She picked it up and brought it back—and even though she’ll deny it now, she was definitely a little nervous handing it to him. Apparently something about that moment stuck, because to this day, Sam can still tell you exactly what Jack was wearing that night. At the time Sam was living across the hall from a couple of Jack’s friends. She may or may not have asked them, "Who’s the tall guy?"—not knowing that the “tall guy” was going to turn into her boyfriend. A couple of weeks later, Sam's car broke down, and while her mom was helping out in the parking lot, she noticed Jack looking over. Her mom asked who he was, and if you ask Sam, she’ll claim she barely said anything. But her mom will tell you a completely different answer. Then came fall break—and that cute guy was heading home with her. And from that point on, it just felt easy. What started as a random Spikeball toss turned into conversations, late-night walks, inside jokes, and a feeling that neither of us could shake. Now, a few years later, here we are—getting married. It turns out that the tall guy with the Spikeball and the girl who nervously handed him the ball back... were exactly who they were meant to find all along.
