Our Story

08.20.2014 - now

We are often asked: where are you from and where did you meet? Our reply is often: how much time do you have and it’s complicated. Definitely nothing straightforward telling the story of a man from California and a woman from Georgia meeting in Boston and now living in Washington, DC. We met when Jessica was completing her first year of residency in Boston; we knew things were meant to be when we split a bottle of Cabernet on our first date at Antico Forno in the North End. That was only the beginning of our adventure. Our love of wine and food has taken us on adventures from Napa to Seattle and Bordeaux to Amsterdam, enjoying every sip and bite along the way. The adventure never stops as life has taken us from Boston to DC to Raleigh and back to DC, which we now call home. Now we spend our days exploring this wonderful city and all that it has to offer with our pup Stella. We can't wait for this next chapter of our lives!

The Proposal

08.31.2019

It was the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend and Chris thought it would be a great opportunity to head to Annapolis for brunch and to enjoy time outside near the water. They were working their way down Main Street to the brunch location and were just outside the Market House when Chris asked Jessica to marry him. She was more focused on getting to brunch on time (she thought we were late for our reservation!), so her initial response was, "Wait, we're doing this now?" She then officially accepted his proposal and found out that they were not in fact late for brunch so they didn't need to rush. Much to her surprise, his family that was hiding in the bushes emerged to congratulate them!
