We met through a mutual friend at Williams Baptist College. We became friends, but rarely talked to each other until Thanksgiving break during our fall semester. After that, we talked every day, studied together, and enjoyed many of what are known as "William's Walks" (walking around our campus, talking for long periods of time). We became best friends, but it eventually turned into something more. We went on a date, where we held hands for the first time, and the rest, as they say, is history.
In July 2018, my mom, Alexander, and I planned a photo shoot. We had done one in 2016, just for fun, and had decided to do another one. Little did I know what this photo shoot would become. My mom encouraged me to get my nails done, since I rarely spend money to do things like that for myself. I got my nails painted, and both my and Alexander's outfits were chosen. We began taking pictures, as I knew we would. However, I was told to read a passage from the Bible, and not to worry about anything else, because my mom was going to be having Alexander move around for the shots. Then, I was told I could stop reading and turn around. The verse I had stopped at was "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder" (a common verse said at weddings). When I turned around, Alexander was down on one knee. I barely remember that moment, it was all a blur and I was in so much shock! I remember him telling me, "There are only two times I want to be with you: now, and forever." Both of our hearts were so full.
