Our Backstories

Melissa: A goofy band nerd that has never been on a date Noah: A sports-obsessed class clown and life of the party

How We Met

May 6, 2018

Since Melissa never had a boyfriend and could never see herself interacting with a guy in-person, she decided to check out Tinder (I know...). After many unpleasant and weird matches, Melissa matched with a guy who had the same movie/music taste and sense of humor. His first words to her were "We go together like peas and carrots", which was one of Melissa's favorite movie quotes. After texting for a few days, their first date was on May 6, 2018 - dinner at Torchy's Tacos and the Escape Room. When Noah picked Melissa up in his suburban that he was afraid wouldn't start up again, the song "Maniac" immediately played on the radio - a song from the classic movie, Tommy Boy.

The First Kiss

June 9, 2018

Noah drove all the way from Tyler to Austin to take Melissa to her ideal dream date - the drive-in movie theater. First, they stopped by Top Notch Hamburgers for dinner and then saw Dazed and Confused (another classic) at the Starlite drive-in. At the end of the movie during the song Slow Ride, Melissa was scared to death and knew what was next...

Our First Roadtrip

March 22, 2019

Melissa and Noah drove together from College Station to the Texas Tulips Farm in Pilot Point, TX. They had almost 4 hours to jam out to all the oldies music and tell each other their stories. We later found out that this was when we both wanted to say "I love you" to each other...

The Engagement

February 11, 2022

Noah planned a trip to Gatlinburg, TN, but Melissa had her suspicions wondering why in the world they were going on a random three-day trip. Noah suggested that they go to the Anakeesta theme park in the mountains in downtown Gatlinburg. They rode the swing up to the very top and after walking around for awhile, Noah suggested they take a picture by the heart twigloo with the mountain backdrop. Noah got down on one knee after the pictures, and Melissa said "Yes!", of course while immediately bawling her eyes out.
