Jess and Will first met as 4 year olds at the Heiskell School in Buckhead, but don't worry, this isn't a preschool love story, the only thing Jess remembers about Will was his weird obsession with keeping his pencil box organized...to the point where if anyone messed with it, he would lose his mind. Thus, Jess now fondly refers to Will as "weird pencil box boy". After the Heiskell School, Jess and Will went very different directions, the most they saw of each other was an occasional Facebook post, so it was a huge surprise to run into each other at a birthday party in Athens. Will eventually worked up the courage to talk to Jess that night and the rest is history. The two immediately clicked and even went on their first date with Will's mom! Just kidding, Will swears he didn't know she would be at the same restaurant they went to for their date ;)
After six years of dating, Will knew how to execute his plan and get Jess dressed up first thing in the morning - he told her he was taking her to one of her favorite restaurants. So despite her plans to work CHS prom that night, she got ready for a date day with Will. On the way to brunch, Will took a detour to walk near the Chattahoochee River and spun some story about being too early for their reservations while he started getting just a little too fidgety. At this point, Jess was fully aware of what was happening, why else in the world would she agree to go on a hike in a dress? What she didn't know was that Will had all of her best friends, from all over the country, hiding in the woods waiting to celebrate them. The two walked to a beautiful overlook of the river, Will got down on one knee, and the two were basically tackled by all their favorite people. Oh yeah, she said YES!!
