In the fall of 2018, both Brian and Jessica had decided to broaden their dating pools and joined a dating app called Hinge as a result. Jessica made the 1st move by accidentally liking a prompt on Brian's profile about tv shows. It wasn't an accident that she liked his profile, but it was an accident that she started a conversation about tv shows since she doesn't watch much tv. Fortunately Brian didn't catch on and after about a week of chatting, they met up for a drink at Copy Cat which turned into a 5 hour 1st date.

2019 was full of adventures from exploring new DC restaurants, hiking, and visiting wineries to a spontaneous weekend trip to London. The summer was spent taking trips to White Lake in NC with Jessica's family and Seneca Lake in NY with Brian's family. True to our personalities, Brian was slow and steady as he fell in love, while Jessica dove in headfirst trusting her gut. While 2020 brought the COVID-19 pandemic and less adventures, our love continued to grow as we navigated challenging circumstances (if we survived a pandemic, we can figure out this whole marriage thing right?). The greatest adventure of 2020 was adopting our sweet puppy Ollie. Our opposite personalities bring balance to our relationship and strength to the others' weakness. We are very excited for a lifetime of continuing to fall in love.

On December 6, 2020 Brian convinced Jessica to wake up at 5am to make the trek to Kennedy Peak Loop for a sunrise hike. Jessica was suspicious, but trying to play it cool. Brian was cool as a cucumber. Ollie was oblivious and just pumped to be on a hike. When they reached the lookout tower, Jess thought Brian was reaching in his pocket for a treat for Ollie, but instead he pulled out a ring and asked her to marry him to which #JessSaidYes! Jessica is looking forward to a lifetime of sunrise hikes and Brian is looking forward to a lifetime of getting Jess caught up on pop culture references.
