Once Upon a Time... At Theatre Camp

In the summer of 2004 Chris Clowers and Molly Walker were both gregarious young thespians at First Stage Children's Theatre in Milwaukee. Although they didn't have classes together, they had many friends in common, and were eventually introduced. They hit it off right away and spent many summer nights tying up the phone lines at their parents' houses. They dated for several months, including attending Molly's homecoming dance together, but their relationship ended not long after. The two remained friends and saw each other many times over the years. In the fall of 2012, Chris was living in LA. He traveled home to visit and organized a get-together with old friends in Chicago while he was there. He spent the night catching up with old friends, Molly among them. Then, with her courage bolstered by several IPAs, Molly kissed Chris in the London-style phone booth on Milwaukee Avenue. The two began a long-distance relationship; finally, in the fall of 2014, Chris packed up his belongings and moved to Chicago. They moved in together the following summer and have been building new traditions ever since. One of these traditions has been traveling to Door County every year to the cabin Chris' parents built in the woods. With Chris' support and skills, Molly (mostly) began to master her apprehension about the lack of electricity, running water, and proximity to anything resembling civilization. Over the years, the cabin began to represent a space in which they could reconnect with nature and each other. On August 25th, 2019, Chris got down on one knee in the middle of the clearing and asked Molly to spend the rest of their lives together. Molly didn't say yes; she said of course. On October 5th, 2020, we were married in a small, intimate ceremony with loved ones in Chicago. It was not the celebration we originally envisioned, but we are immensely grateful for your love and support, now and always. You can view our wedding video at https://vimeo.com/504437197
