Please do not bring gifts or cards to Italy, instead if you would like, please ship those prior to our travel so you don’t lose them or have to keep track. Thanks!
The venue is in Barberino Tavarnelle in the Tuscany Region.
Mediterranean chic attire fit for Italy. Again, fun colors for summer! Please try not to dress in all black.
We would love everyone to be in a sort of cocktail attire, Mediterranean chic fit for Italy. Fun colors/patterns. Think summer colors and Italian vibes.
Everyone should go to the local grocery store to pick up the essentials after renting your car before heading to your the villa, the bnb or your rental. The grocery store isn't right around the corner, about 15-20 minutes, so you'll want to get snacks, drinks, and breakfast stuff. I will supply some snacks and waters in each apartment - I will also put some laundry detergent pods in each apartment that have a washer, but please get the specific things you like, especially if you want to make breakfast or get hungry late at night!
We have fit almost everyone at Quercia al Poggio or the nearby bed and breakfast. We wish we could fit everyone but I know there will be some nice hotels nearby!
You will need a rental car to get from your destination to Quercia al Poggio, to come to the wedding activities and explore. It is pretty far up the mountain, about a 20 minute drive. I'm not sure Uber or Taxi's will travel there.
About 50 minutes from Florence, around 3 hours from Rome and 4.50 hours from Naples.
After our week together, 22nd-26th, we hope you can keep adventuring in Italy or the nearby countries to continue your journey! Nearby: Walker and I have been to Strada in Chianti and Greve in Chainti and loved both of those quaint towns. There's also San Gimignano and Siena that we have both been to, known for its medieval architecture and walled in town. You can also stay in the town of Florence after and enjoy plenty of activities there (also a great airport). If you want history and a major airport to fly out of, travel to Rome! Some of the best food and gelato we've ever had was in Rome!
We recommend flying into Florence (FLR), as it is the closet to our venue. For cheaper flights, flying into Rome (Roma Fiumicino (FCO)) and Naples (Naples Capodichino), but those are farther away. Walker and I will be flying into Rome. We have some family flying into Milan. Fly back home: If flying out of the same airport, then it makes sense to buy a round trip ticket. If flying out of a different airport because you are road tripping, make sure you choose multi city tickets at the airport closet to you!
- Delta Airline, they fly into Florence, Naples, Rome, Venice and Sicily. - Icelandair, they fly into Milan, Rome and Verona. -Icelandiar also does stopovers in Iceland for no extra fees when you book with them! If it's in your budget to do a long layover, 1 day up to a week, then we recommended stopping in Iceland!! You wont regret it - it's like being on another planet! -Lufthansa, flys into Florence, Rome, Milan, Venice and more. -American Airlines, flys into Rome, Naples, Venice and Milan. -United Airlines, flys into Florence, Naples, Rome, Milan and Venice -ITA Airlines, most Italian Cities! *You will most likely have a layover with most airlines!
Anyone who plans on being the driver CAN get an international drivers license before heading to Italy. Schedule an appointment at AAA near you about a month before leaving. https://it.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/transportation-driving/. We haven't done this the past few times because at the rental car agency they only ask for you Drivers License, so it's kind of a waste of money to get a travel license.
Most likely you will bring a checked bag, roller carry on and a personal item like a purse or backpack. I highly recommend packing your wedding attire in your carry on, your medicine, and an extra outfit in case your bag gets lost.
