Amanda and Dave first met in the Navy while both stationed in Norfolk. Things were a bit tense between them at the start, but as they worked together and shared deployments, that initial friction gently gave way to something warm and real. What began as two sailors simply crossing paths slowly blossomed into a genuine friendship filled with laughter, late-night talks, and the kind of easy comfort that felt like home no matter where the Navy sent them. Over time, their friendship deepened into something more. Amanda moved to California after leaving the Navy, but their connection never faded. They stayed in touch across 3,000 miles, and with every conversation, every message, and every visit, they fell more and more in love. The distance that could have kept them apart only proved how strong their hearts were pulling them together. Eventually, Amanda moved back to North Carolina to be with Dave. Together they created a beautiful life and a cozy, love-filled home right by the lake. Their days are brightened by their wonderful kids, playful dogs, curious cats, and their happy little flock of ducks that waddle through the lakeside backyard. On a random Friday in March, Dave surprised Amanda with the most unexpected and heartfelt proposal. She was so overcome that she blacked out, but even in that dreamy haze, the only word her heart knew how to say was “yes.” They were absolutely thrilled—still are—and decided to elope on October 24th, 2025, in a beautiful, intimate celebration of the love they had built over the years. Their love story is their favorite adventure and they can’t wait to keep adding sweet new chapters together for the rest of their lives ❤️
