While neither one of them went to Texas Southern University (TSU), Montrice and Vanesha were both there celebrating their homecoming with friends. Vanesha was walking around the yard with her brother when she walked past Montrice. They both glanced at one another and the spark was electric! As she walked by him a second time, they caught eyes again and Montrice called Vanesha over. He shot his shot and they exchanged numbers. Montrice texted her soon after and they arranged a date. They had their first date a few days later at KISS during Vanesha’s bridesmaid, Patience, birthday celebration and they have been inseparable ever since.

Montrice planned a special proposal on the day of TSU’s homecoming a year after they met there. Vanesha had plans to attend homecoming as she had the last several years. Little did she know, her friends were all in on the planning. They had planned to meet at Icey’s house, Vanesha’s Matron of Honor, and then head over to TSU to celebrate homecoming. Vanesha arrived at Icey’s with her brother and sister and they insisted on seeing the view of the city from Icey’s rooftop. Vanesha didn’t want to go up to the rooftop but Icey insisted. When they got up there, Vanesha was extremely surprised to see her closest friends and family. As the DJ played “Lessons,” Vanesha walked down the red carpet with everyone handing her a rose along the way. As she reached Montrice, they embraced and he professed his love and got down on one knee to propose! She said yes! They went on to celebrate homecoming, per usual, with their friends and family!
