On April 11, 2024, our story started when we were playing pickleball in a co-ed recreational league. After Danny’s team beat Melisa’s in the semi-finals, Melisa asked Danny to join our softball team for the following season. Over the next few months, we developed a friendship. Friendly banter turned into flirting and on November 17, Danny asked Melisa on a date. On November 29, 2024, we went on our first date playing indoor mini golf followed by appetizers. Our date lasted over 5 hours and we knew something special was brewing. On December 23, 2024, Danny asked Melisa to be his girlfriend. Since then, we’ve shared a love of traveling together, playing pickleball, going to concerts and baseball games, cooking, playing ping pong, spending lots of time with our dog, Nick, and watching sports – although we root for different teams. On April 11, 2026 (exactly two years to the day they met), Danny proposed to Melisa in the park where our love story began. From that first pickleball game to this moment, every step has brought us closer—and now we’re excited to begin the greatest match of our lives together. With a love that grows stronger and more vibrant every day, we’re grateful to celebrate this moment surrounded by friends and family who mean the world to us.
