Daniel and I first met at the Olive Garden on Busch Boulevard. A co-worker of mine, Lampra, invited me to a dinner with our Busch Gardens co-workers and told me she was going to bring a friend of hers from high school to meet me. It turned out to be Daniel. We both had no money so we ended up sharing a pizza off the kids menu. And the rest is history, so they say.
The Saturday of the proposal, Daniel and I had spent the morning/afternoon at Silver Springs Park with my Aunt Gwen & Uncle Dan, my mother, father & Frankie. It was a great day and Daniel was acting so normal so I had no indication that anything was going to happen later that day. When we got back to the house, I thought it was going to be a normal game night with Nick, Marlene & Adrian. We started playing one of our favorite games, Endure the Stars. Daniel created an entire gaming scenario that played seamlessly with all of our other scenarios. This scenario had my character (the Psychic) as the only character allowed to pick up the "lab notes". This wasn't abnormal for the game to choose a character to highlight so I was none the wiser. At the end of the game, I picked up the notes and was handed an envelope that had the notes in it. I am always excited to open envelopes in games and even though there were never any envelopes in previous game scenarios, I didn't even think a second about it. I opened the lab notes and the first sentence started with "Megan". At first I was confused as to how the game would know my name. Then as I continued to read, the note went on about going on adventures and how we go on amazing adventure together and how we should go on them for the rest of our lives. In my head, I was slowly piecing the puzzle together as I was reading. The last sentence asked me to look at Daniel - when I did, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course and then after he put it on my finger all I could do was look at the ring and Daniel and and my next words were "what?!".I was shocked! After that Daniel tried to walk away with a kiss! So I grabbed him and brought him back to me. :-) Funny tidbit - right before the game I almost saw the ring but Daniel flawlessly hid it and I was none the wiser :-) Whew - that was close!
