We first laid eyes on each other in the school cafeteria. We didn't talk, but just made awkward eye contact with each other every day at lunch. Fast forward to homecoming season: we both didn't have a date and both didn't want one. However, we were convinced to go with each other after the school staff set us up together. I was Ms. Prudence's secretary and Ms. Angela was Antonio's counselor. One day, Antonio was asked by Ms. Angela if he had a homecoming date and Ms. Prudence asked if I had a homecoming date. Our answer was obviously--No. However, to our surprise, I was "mysteriously" called down to Ms. Angela's office the same day Antonio was in there and the rest was history... we made it official on Nov. 18. 2013.
We decided on forever after dinner and a private late-night riverwalk in Kansas City, MO. Antonio says he knew it was the perfect day when I sang "I want to have your last name" (Butterflies Pt. 2 by Queen Naija) while driving over that same river to head to dinner that night.
