How We Met

7/03/2012 - When Things Became Official

At the end of August 2011, Lindsay was moving into her dorm in Fenwick Hall on the Towers Quad at UConn. Four doors down, Kyle and his roommate were already settled in and had their door open, greeting all the new faces and offering to help people move in. Lindsay first noticed Kyle's kindness, a set of clubs under his twin bed, and his beautiful baby blues. Kyle was wowed by how outgoing Lindsay was and her abilities to make a room laugh and listen to him talk about golf. The first time Lindsay and Kyle spent time together was golfing at Skungamaug River Golf Course, it was blast and afterwards they shared their first meal at the oh so romantic Towers dining hall. After the end of the school year, Kyle and Lindsay continued to meet up with each other and a group of friends that lived in and around the Fairfield County area. After incessant texting and many elbows to the rib cage from these friends, Lindsay and Kyle went on their first date to the Sunset Grille and decided to make things official a little bit later that summer. The next 9 years have been filled with graduations, celebrations, getting to know and becoming a part of each other's families, and so so many laughs. After dating for 8 years and spending the beginning of a pandemic living with 4 people in a 2 bedroom apartment (shout out to our Quaranteam), we decided it was time to move into our first home together! This past summer (June 12th to be exact) Kyle planned the most perfect proposal. What started as an afternoon round at Silvermine, turned into an amazing celebration with friends and family. We can't wait to continue the celebration of our commitment to each other with even more of our friends and family on July 30th!
