Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House
The Westcott House is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Prairie Style house in Springfield, Ohio. The house was built in 1908 for Mr. Burton J. Westcott, his wife Orpha, and their family. The Westcott property is the only Prairie style house designed by Wright in the state of Ohio.
Glen Helen Nature Preserve
Wonderful preserve to explore whether for a short hike to the Springs or Falls, to a long trail run connecting to Clifton Gorge. The 25 miles of trails are not always marked so bring a map or snap a pic of the info board before starting.
Young's Jersey Dairy
If you are in town early before our parking shuttle starts, play a round of miniature golf, visit the petting zoo, or get a world-famous ice cream cone at Young’s Jersey Dairy.
The Dayton Art Institute
The Dayton Art Institute (DAI) (a museum of fine arts) has been rated one of the top 10 best art museums in the United States for children. The museum also ranks in the top 3% of all art museums in North America.
Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park
There are five National Historic Landmarks and a National Register Historic District located within Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. These include the Wright Cycle Company building, Hoover Block, Huffman Prairie Flying Field, 1905 Wright Flyer III, Hawthorn Hill, and the Paul Laurence Dunbar State Memorial. Together these sites tell the stories of the lives and legacies of Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, and Paul Laurence Dunbar.
Hartman Rock Garden
Self-guided tours of an iconic, restored folk-art garden created 1932–1944 with 250,000 stones. Super funky stop at a "giant ball of yarn roadside type attraction" that is uniquely Springfield.
Clifton Mill
While it isn't time for their iconic Christmas lights, a visit to the restaurant, old country store or village is not far from Springfield and a neat side trip.
Boonshoft Museum of Discovery
The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is a children's museum, science and technology center and zoo in Dayton, Ohio, United States that focuses on science and natural history. Exhibits include an extensive natural history collection as well as maintaining a collection of live animals native to Ohio and abroad.
