Julie and Mike met while attending their junior year at Ramapo College in 2015. Though if you ask Mike, he will say that he’s had a crush on Julie since freshman year when he saw her exiting their dorm building from afar. Once they officially met through mutual friends and Mike didn’t have to stare longingly at Julie from a distance anymore, they quickly realized they couldn’t get enough of each other. Julie started finding herself anxiously staring at her phone awaiting Mike’s texts telling her to come over after class. They’d sit and talk until all hours of the night and crack up while watching episode after episode of “Kitchen Nightmares.” They went as dates to each other’s Greek life formals and formed bonds with each other’s friends (friends they are still blessed to have after all these years!) Once junior year ended, they made many plans to see one another over the summer, Mike taking Julie on beautiful hikes around where he grew up in Branchburg, and Julie showing Mike her favorite spots around the beach towns in Monmouth County. Returning to Ramapo as seniors and spending their final year of college together, Julie and Mike knew this was a forever kind of thing. They began to imagine their future together as they navigated all the crazy uncertainty of beginning life as real adults. 9 years, an apartment, countless trips, dates and Food Network-binges later, they’re finally tying the knot! Julie and Mike have experienced some of their biggest life moments by each other’s sides, and their love continues to grow every day. They are true best friends in love, never missing a moment to make the other laugh. Julie and Mike got engaged on September 1st, 2024 in the Spiezia family home. Mike popped the question right in front of the kitchen sink (just like how Julie’s dad proposed to her mom!) followed by an amazing surprise celebration with all their family members. The whole thing was put together by Mike and Julie’s moms, plus her sister and best friend. They left no detail behind, from hiring a photographer to capture shots of every candid moment, to personalized napkins and bags of popcorn. The day was a dream come true, as is evident from the photos of Julie ugly crying at the sight of Mike on one knee. Julie and Mike got right to wedding planning and knew that New Hope, PA was the perfect setting for their big day. They have made a lot of memories spending time there over the years and are obsessed with the historic charm of the area. They hope their friends and family love it as much as they do when they come to visit for wedding weekend! Julie and Mike couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the start of their journey as a married couple alongside their loved ones! Get ready to party in New Hope as Julie and Mike #vowtobevolpe forever and evaaaaa.
