We went to Madhouse for a workout, then grabbed a post-gym meal at Publix — naturally. The next day turned out to be Kyle’s birthday, so we got a cake to bake. We didn’t realize it then, but that weekend set the tone. We spent the night hanging out at his place, and from that point on, we were inseparable.
Kyle had already moved to Florida for work, and Elissa was visiting for the holidays. Between family, workouts, and spending every free moment together, it just clicked. That trip, we made it official — no grand gesture, just two people who knew what they wanted. (Okay… and maybe a little Christmas magic.)
We got engaged on Elissa’s birthday — which also happened to be Thanksgiving. We were doing a sunrise photo shoot at a park called Field of Dreams with Kyle’s freshly built motorcycle. What Elissa thought was just a casual morning turned into the most beautiful surprise. Right after Kyle proposed, our family and friends appeared from behind the trees to celebrate with us. We spent the day at home cooking, laughing, and soaking in all the love. It was magical. “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” — James 1:17
We’re celebrating our love surrounded by family, friends, and Florida sunshine. We'll say our vows under the oak tree, toast with cake and coffee, and dance under the stars as Mr. & Mrs. Vorster. We can’t wait to kick off our next chapter in the most personal, romantic way — wedding weekend style.
