It all started when they were just kids in high school. They happened to be making their official visits to Marquette on the same day, and thanks to some impressive wingman skills from Mr. Mark Voudrie (Vinnie's dad), they hit it off. After enjoying a good conversation they went their separate ways until the time came to actually show up on campus for the first day of class. With some next-level sleuthing, Vinnie was able to find Lizzy's Snapchat and came up with any and every excuse to talk to her. Fast forward a whopping one month into the semester and they made it official (after a couple no's from Lizzy, but Vinnie is nothing if not persistent). Over the next four years they grew closer and closer, they laughed, they cried, they hid it from the track team ridiculously well (Like 2+ years), it was truly love at first throw (Yeah it's cheesy and bad but you're the one who's read it until this point). Then graduation came and Lizzy found a real job while Vinnie refused to step into the adult world for another year and stayed in school to become an educated gentleman. During this year, Lizzy became a Marquette throws super-fan as well as the one who paid for all of their date nights. After Vinnie finished grad school in the spring of 2023 he knew it was time to save money and as the age-defying country music star, Beyonce once said, "Put a ring on it". He saved up for the summer and while celebrating Lizzy's birthday got on a knee and popped the question. All in all, Marquette University gave them a combined 4 degrees, 5 Track Team awards, more conference medals and honors than they care to count, and, most importantly, the lower backs and knees of people three times their age. Oh and I guess that whole marriage thing, too.
