We're so excited our day is finally here! Please make sure to check out our schedule and travel pages for Friday and Saturday's itineraries. We've left welcome bags at the reception desks at both hotels -- please make sure to mention you're with the Vosk/Fahey Wedding. Can't wait to finally celebrate with you all XO
Brendan and I met during our junior year at the University of Rhode Island. I had been separated from my group of friends at a party and was scouting the room for familiar faces. I saw a group of boys in the corner, who I had known through mutual friends. Excited - I walked up to them, hugged them and started to catch up. After a few minutes, I began to realize that none of them actually had a clue who I was and that they were just being polite about it. I laughed it off, reintroduced myself and proceeded to make new friends (who were destined to remember me this time). One of those boys, Brendan, had always caught my eye and I was eager to finally start a conversation with him. We just instantly connected and continuously gravitated toward each other for the rest of the night. He eventually asked for my number, we never stopped talking and soon enough I was calling my mom to tell her that I had met a "cute boy from Westchester."
For the last few years, Brendan and I have been joining his family on vacation for a week by the beach in LBI. We look forward to it every August; it is one of our happy places. On our second day at the beach house, Brendan suggested that we sneak away for a date night; fresh seafood and a bottle of wine - my fave. After dinner, Brendan suggested we take a little digestive stroll on the beach to catch the sunset - another fave. We made our way down the ramp onto the beach. I had assumed he was kneeling down to take his shoes off but when I turned around, there he was - ring in hand - asking me to spend the rest of his life with him. Hands down the easiest answer I've ever given. Right as I said yes and totally coincidentally, fireworks started going off on the beach - barely even a mile away. We cozied up on the lifeguard stand, watched the fireworks against the sunset, and got all the tears out before heading back to the house. By this point, I figured his family was in on it and knew there would be some continued celebrations when we got back to the house. But Brendan had one more surprise up his sleeve - he had snuck my parents over while we were at dinner. We got some more tears and hugs out of the way, popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated until dawn.
