Jacob and Jessica met in February 2025 through Tulsa Country Western Dance Association (TCWDA), where a shared love of country western dancing brought us together.
Throughout 2025, Jacob and Jessica slowly found themselves woven into each other’s lives, both on the dance floor and far beyond it. When his regular partner, Christy, stepped away from class, Jessica slipped into his arms as his new partner, and something about dancing together just felt right. By July, their friendship had grown into something warm and steady. When Jessica’s car needed its AC fixed before her sister’s wedding, Jacob showed up without hesitation—kind, calm, and determined to help. That simple act of care became the moment they both felt the shift. It was no longer just friendship; it was the beginning of something deeper, something unmistakably theirs.
By August, it felt obvious to everyone around them that they were meant to be more than friends. Jessica, however, held tightly to the idea that they were “just friends,” repeating it with a stubborn certainty that fooled absolutely no one. Thankfully, Cassandra stepped in as the voice of reason, gently nudging them toward what their hearts already knew. She convinced them that it was time for an official date—especially since they had already shared one or two unofficial ones without admitting it. Their first real date was over Labor Day weekend. Jacob planned a night that was simple, thoughtful, and quietly romantic: dinner at Texas Roadhouse, followed by stargazing at a special spot he had chosen just for them. Under that wide Oklahoma sky, something shifted. It was the moment their story truly began.
This brings us to this May. After their latest adventure visiting family in Arizona, Jacob surprised Jessica with a moment she’ll never forget. He blended a few of their favorite memories into one perfect evening. They grabbed Chick‑fil‑A—just like they did on one of their very first unofficial dates—and then drove out to their special spot, the same place where they went stargazing on their first official date. Jacob parked the truck so the bed faced the sunset, giving them the perfect view as they sat together and ate. When the sun finally slipped below the horizon, he told her he had a surprise to set up. While Jessica tilted her head back to admire the stars, he quietly got out his speaker and reached for the ring. Her favorite song began to play, and he asked her to turn around. There he was—down on one knee, eyes full of love. He said a few heartfelt words, asked Jessica to marry him, and she said yes.
