Willy P (William Paterson U) First day of statistics class. My head is down shielding me from the possibility of socialization and a wave of nostalgia hits as someone walks in front of me with a familiar scent. A soft ocean wave with citrus and spice. I looked up confused, because there was only one person, I remembered who wore that type of scent, but I quickly realized it wasn't them. In the midst of me looking, I was intrigued at how unique this kid looked. I've never seen anyone that looked like him before with such curly hair! And his jacket was kind of cool and he seemed so confident in his walk. He had a style that was his own and ...."Yo. You good?!" he aggressively said to me as I was starring. "Yeah, I'm fine." (Jerk) I thought to myself. What a ass. I was only looking because he smelled good and then I dazed out. I was so embarrassed. An entire semester went by and we did not speak. He was the most obnoxious student in the class, always putting people down and making students uncomfortable for asking questions. Now, it's finals week, and we're all waiting for the professor to arrive. I, in my own zone as usual. Watching a Bollywood movie, Kabhi Khushi Khabi Gham on my phone on Netflix, David for the first time in a semester sits in the seat next to me and just starts talking. "Hey, did you study for the final?" Realizing what I was watching, he says, "wow, you know what's crazy, my Mom loves that movie!" We became friends in class and sat together the remainder of the week talking and getting to know each other. We never exchanged information and said our goodbyes for Winter break. When Spring semester started, we soon found that we had 3 classes together back-to-back. It was history from there. We became inseparable. 6 years later....I finally get to marry by best friend and my soulmate, David. <3
Vondalynn spent months dropping hints to propose. It was during the pandemic and she was 8 months pregnant and haven’t been feeling well. But the ring finally came, after being delayed for weeks, and I was ecstatic that I could finally propose. I had it all planned out. She hates being in front of people starring at her, so I knew at home in our privacy was the way to go. What she didn't know, was I had also been anticipating this moment. I was going to surprise her in the living room, down on one knee. She was lying in bed at the time. I attempted to get her to come into the living room so I could surprise her with the ring in my hand and me down on one knee. After calling her for several minutes and asking, she wouldn't make it out of the bed. She was tired. So I came into the room and sat down next to her and began to tell her how much I love her and what she means to me. I asked her to cover her face so I could surprise her with the ring. When she uncovered her face, I asked her to marry me. She was in disbelief and saying repeatedly, "Is this real?" Wait, but are you serious, this is for real?" "Your not joking right?" And then, she said YES!
