Sending you all our love, Allison & Matt
After college, we both moved to Hoboken, NJ to be closer to our jobs. We happened to meet each other on an intramural kickball team that Allison originally said no to but a very persuasive friend convinced her to join (thanks Jenny!). Our team was made up of total strangers, who all ended up being around the same life stage and became really close friends, and still are to this day! Matt and Allison started off as good friends, much to Matt's dismay who was was "friend-zoned" at the time. We talked just about every day and spent a lot of time together with our friends. Then, about a year after meeting, Matt went on a week long philanthropy trip to Guatemala and didn’t have access to his phone. It was then that Allison realized how much she liked him and missed him while he was away. The week he returned to the states we went on a date in Hoboken and the rest is history!
We love to travel, and on our first anniversary of dating we took a weekend trip to Newport, RI and fell in love with the town. We went to the vineyard, toured some mansions, ate delicious seafood and just had the best time. In September 2018, Matt surprised Allison with a birthday weekend up in Newport with her twin sister Kaitlyn, and her boyfriend Hector. After a long drive, the four of us did not waste any time and headed straight for the vineyard. We enjoyed a wine tasting outside and then took a walk over to the pretty vines to snap some pictures (#forthegram) before leaving. Much to Allison's surprise he got down on one knee and proposed! Afterwards, we had a 5pm dinner reservation to get to (which Allison thought was ridiculous at the time) and as the hostess was seating us, both of our families were there waiting! It was the best surprise and the perfect weekend celebrating with loved ones.
