Our second, "first" date was at a small and quaint restaurant, Adventures in Food & Wine. Over a delicious meal and a nice bottle of red wine, we caught up on the last 15 years of our lives. A date that started as a casual afternoon lasted over 12 hours. It ended with a night of Karaoke, and with Kenny impressing Luyen in a game of SNAPS with his friend, Dennis at Butter. Just ask Kenny, "Let's play SNAPS!". In the months to follow we spent many nights talking until the sun came up without realizing how much time had passed. We had never felt more connected to someone in a relationship. Life had taken both of us in different directions, but somehow we managed to find our way back to one another. You never know what life has in store. We both thought we would never find the person we would be willing to commit forever to, and now after all these years we have found the love of our life. Little did we know that our first date would set the tone for our relationship. It has truly been an amazing adventure in food, wine, and travel! It is through these adventures that we fell in love with one another. We are excited to spend the rest of our lives continuing on this adventure together!

In September 2020, we escaped the confines of our apartment in our unusually quiet city. We landed poolside in sunny Palm Springs! While on this adventure, we embarked on a three day side journey to Joshua Tree, where Kenny planned a romantic night of stargazing in Joshua Tree National Park. It was a perfect night for stargazing since minimal light from the new moon made for ideal conditions for viewing the Milky Way. Luyen told Kenny how magical the night was, that she had never seen so many stars in the sky and she would never forget this night. And at this moment, Kenny got down on one knee amidst all the cactus and brush, and he popped the question. Luyen doesn't remember exactly what he said except that she said, "Yes!". Kenny popped a bottle of champagne and turned on an Ed Sheeran mix. We toasted to a truly perfect night under the Milky Way.
