Alexi Knudsen

Maid of Honor

It might come as a surprise that I met my maid of honor only 3 years ago! Alexi and I started working in the same department of a surety bonding company about a month apart. Between our love for emo music and terrible bathroom jokes, we hit it off right away. She's been there through all of our California adventures, and even helped Ian pick out my engagement ring. Alexi is one of the most thoughtful and passionate people I've ever met. She makes everyone she meets feel important and loved. She often knows me better than I know myself, which is why I knew she had to be my Maid of Honor.

Kyle Gomes

Best Man/Security

Kyle, better known as Gomes, has been a part of this relationship since day one. Gomes is one of the four wedding party members that lived on the same freshman dorm floor as us. Having been Ian's roommate for the remainder of college, he knows our relationship really well... maybe too well. Sorry Gomes. All in all, we could not have asked for a better Best Man or Head of Security. Wedding crashers beware.

Zanetta Wanner

Matron of Honor

I also met Zanetta at our job at the surety bonding company. On the surface we may seem like very different people (note her love for dancing and all things makeup), but we bond over the important things, like Disney Channel Original Movies and party games. Zan is easily one of the funniest and most genuine people I have ever met. She is a 10/10 hype man and best friend. She is also the one screaming/crying in the background of our engagement video (that she sneakily recorded for us). Having been married for 3 years now, her marriage is an inspiration for what's to come, and for all these reasons, she's the perfect Matron of Honor.

Kyle Ansbach

Groomsman

Kyle is also one of the four that survived freshman dorm life with us. With the same birthday as Ian, a wedding two months before ours, and a love for adventure, these boys have a lot in common. It's no wonder they're in each other's wedding parties. We can't wait for another California adventure with Kyle (and his soon-to-be-wife Ashley!), hopefully this will be the trip that convinces them to move out West ;)

Sarah Greaney

Bridesmaid

I met Sarah on the bus to elementary school. Over the years we developed a relationship built on inside jokes and ridiculous adventures. When were still too young to drive, we would walk (more like hike) to each other's houses through the woods that separated our neighborhoods. We made up songs (e.g. an Ode to Gum, and a Hat for Your Bucket) and watched any scary movie we could get our hands on. We promised we would be friends forever, and even though we had some distance in our high school and college days, we always found our way back to each other. I'm so grateful that my oldest (and wildest!) best friend will be by my side on our wedding day.

Pat Murphy

Groomsman

Pat is and has always been our wildcard. He was easily the most loved person on our freshman dorm floor, and always kept things interesting. With his deceivingly quiet demeanor, you would never expect him to be one for stealing your light bulbs or hiding slices of cheese in your apartment... alas. He's a mystery man with a heart of gold, and will undoubtedly make our wedding 3x more fun just by showing up, which is why we had to lock him in by making him a groomsman.

Amanda Stewart

Bridesmaid

If you had told me the first day of college that Amanda would end up being my roommate, best friend, and bridesmaid, I definitely would not have believed it. Amanda was the most quiet (but bubbly!) and studious person on our freshman floor. She was always pure and full of light, and was way too into schoolwork to be my friend. But as our college days got harder, we got closer. She helped me study and I helped her *not* study. Amanda was also the one that saw what Ian and I could be, before we ever did. In fact, she was there when Ian and I kissed for the first time (she was the one pushing our faces together). She is a voice of reason and a constant reminder to always see the good in the world, which made her an obvious choice as one of my bridesmaids.

Adrian Jarvis

Groomsman

Adrian has been there for me since day one. Literally, he was there when I was born. He wasn't the most traditional big brother, but he was certainly the funniest. Nobody can make me laugh like my brother does, so I was surprisingly happy when he asked to move in with us when we moved to Sacramento. I think I speak for both of us when I say it was an amazing decision! Not only has our sibling relationship flourished, but I'm grateful that he really got to know Ian and that they have been able to bond over random things like politics and the NBA. He was a wonderful uncle to Chowder, and now Opie and Wally, so I can only imagine what he'll be like when it's the real deal. He's one of the most important men in my life, and I'm so happy to have his support on our big day.

Sarah Dennis

Bridesmaid

When I was a kid, I always wanted an older sister. When I turned 13, I got one. After a family tragedy, 16-year-old Sarah moved from California to Maryland to live with us for the remainder of her childhood. She taught me so many important things, like how to properly make mac n cheese and how to sneak out without my parents noticing. Sarah also taught me patience and compassion. I've always felt that she played the biggest part in shaping me into the person I am today, and I'm so grateful for her every day. She is the purest example that out of darkness can come light. I always knew she'd be my bridesmaid, and I'm so thrilled it's finally happening.

Michael Rainone

Groomsman/Officiant

Ian's oldest cousin is easily one of the most creative, hilarious people you'll ever meet. Between his incredible musical abilities and ridiculous social media personas (plug: Jebediah Thornwhistle), we knew from day 1 that he would need a special role in our wedding. Since we're not a very religious or spiritual couple, we figured we'd have Michael as our officiant to ensure our ceremony stays light and whimsical (the only way we'd have it).

Kaitlin Moyes

Bridesmaid

Kaitlin is Ian's eldest sister and OG role model. I like to think that if I were a kid in Oceanport, New Jersey in the 80's, I would have wanted to have been in Kaitlin's friend group. She was a little more punk and rebellious than the Kaitlin I know today, but I can definitely relate to that. As the oldest sibling, she paved the path for the Vogel kids, showing them what it meant to be a good person and how to follow your heart. Since I've known her, she's become the most compassionate, badass wife and mom, and Ian and I will forever look to her for guidance.

Brian Moyes

Groomsman

Brian (aka B Money) has been in the family since Ian was only 8 years old. He started dating Ian's oldest sister in 2003, and officially became his brother in October of 2015. Not only is he a talented musician, car mechanic, and beer connoisseur, he is also a wonderful father to our niece and just a really fun person to be around. He set a high bar for the Vogel children's significant others, but Nick and I try not to hold that against him.

Allison Pyle

Bridesmaid

Ian's older sister Allison has always played an important role in Ian's life. For example, his love for sports came from watching Allison play field hockey at a young age, his love for reggae came from stealing her CD's, and his adventurous spirit came from watching Allison take bold risks and chase her passions. It was her move to Hawaii (with then-boyfriend, now-husband Nick) that showed us we could pick up and start fresh. For me, she has been a constant source of inspiration and a reminder to put energy into making myself, and the world, a better place. Everyone would benefit from spending 10 minutes with Allison, so I'm very excited to have her in my bridal party.

Nick Pyle

Groomsman

Nick became Ian's brother-in-law in June of 2015 when he married Ian's sister, Allison. If you've met Nick, you know what a genuine, kind soul he is. He is the definition of "go-with-the-flow" and just has this warm demeanor that makes him so approachable and easy to talk to. With Nick, you'll always get a great bear-hug and if you're lucky, a deep conversation about conspiracy theories (or anything interesting, really). He's just a wonderful person all around and a great example of how to be a good dad, husband, and friend. I'm so thankful Ian has a role model like Nick.

Lydia Moyes

Flower Girl

Let's face it, Lydia is going to be the coolest person at the wedding. She can probably (definitely) name more models of car than Ian, and is a much better dancer than I am (not that that's saying much), and she's 3. Lydia has so much personality in such a small person, she'll have no problem handing you a broom and telling you where to clean up. She loves very deeply (Mickey Mouse, cheese, dad, etc.) and always has a positive attitude. I'm pretty sure she's more excited about the cake than being a flower girl... but I'm also more excited about the cake than being a bride. Kindred spirits. We love Lydia.

Connor Pyle

Ring Bearer

Connor is a wild child with a big heart. He is living proof that children can be born with a big personality (he is wise well beyond his 3 years). He asks questions that will leave you stumped and shows creativity that makes you want to jump into his imagination for a few minutes. Connor loves to play music, teach yoga classes (actually though), and make up games. He's not one for pants, and we're probably going to have to tie the rings to his outfit so they make it to the alter, but there is no other wildling we would want as our ring bearer. (Except maybe his calm, not-so-high-energy brother, Jace, but he will only be 7 months old, so...)

Wally

Dog

We apologize in advance.
