FAQs

As we get closer to our celebration, we'll continue to update our website with helpful information to ensure a safe and happy day for our family and friends.
Question

Wait, aren't you already married?

Answer

Yes, we are! We got married on our original date in our backyard with just our parents, a judge and our best soul sister, Chloe.

Question

So, why/how are you getting married again?

Answer

We were legally married in a small ceremony in August 2020 simply because we couldn't wait any longer to start the rest of our lives together. Our ceremony this year will still be in the Catholic tradition as we originally planned, but it will be part of a process known in the Church as convalidation. Convalidation will recognize our marriage in the Catholic tradition and allow us to celebrate the sacrament of our marriage with our families and friends. We keep telling ourselves you only get married twice, once.

Question

What precautions are you taking to ensure the safety of guests?

Answer

Please be assured we are actively monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and are planning accordingly as we get closer to our celebration. As we quickly approach July 30, we will be updating our wedding website to provide our guests with necessary information to ensure we can have a safe and happy celebration with our loved ones.

Question

I've never been to a Catholic mass before. What should I expect?

Answer

The Church welcomes everyone to sacramental celebrations. If you are not Catholic, we do not expect you to know every aspect of mass and we will be providing programs to help everyone follow along.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Formal, black tie optional. For gentlemen, tuxedo or suit & tie (jacket required); for ladies, formal dresses or cocktail dresses.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! Shuttles will be provided following the ceremony from the hotels to the reception at The Monastery. Transportation will also be provided throughout the evening to take guests from the reception back to their hotels at the end of the evening. There is ample parking for the ceremony at St. Francis de Sales. We suggest that guests drive to the ceremony then head back to their hotel to hop on a shuttle to head to the reception. The Monastery also has plentiful availability for parking, but cars cannot stay in the parking lot overnight.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Absolutely, but we also understand if you need to take the night off! We'll have plenty of activities to keep the kiddos occupied and would love to share our day with their sweet faces.
