The day Cory proposed & I said yes! I cannot thank my brother & sister in law enough for sharing their big day with us!♥️

How we met.

Cory and I worked together at the factory DAP. I remember all of the girls at work going crazy asking each other, "Have you seen the new tech?" "He's hot!". I believe it was about a week or 2 before I finally saw him, my exact words were "him?!" "He's the new tech everyone is going crazy over? He wears a flat bill!" Haha. I was not interested in him in any way shape or form & just made fun of him for wearing a flat bill. But when he finally switched to 2nd shift, we casually became friends because we shared mutual friends. We got to know each other & we shared stories of our pasts & became closer. Cory ended up going thru some hardships & I couldn't help but to be his shoulder. We hungout once to get him out of the house & his mind off things saw a movie & got some dinner & we have been inseparable since that day. After a handful of months had gone by, we asked each other "sooo, what are we?" We both laughed & agreed that we were basically a couple. No questions. Lol. We then asked each other when our anniversary date is, & just agreed to make it the day we first hungout. Now, after 5 years, we have become each others best friends. Cory has became an amazing father to my 3 girls, & I consider Avenly as my own child. Anyone who knows us personally, knows that Cory & I have gone thru a lot of hardships together that would tear most couples apart. We have grown so much in the last 5 years &. I could not be any prouder of us. Yes, we still have our bad days, but, that doesn't stop us from remembering how much we still love each other! We have never given up on each other. Never will. I cannot wait to see where we go in this next chapter of our lives!

How we came up with our date!

13th of the month!

April 13th, 2019 is the date of our anniversary of when Cory and I started dating. The 13th has always been considered a unlucky date of the month due to it landing on Friday the 13th. But Cory and I have changed the unlucky 13, into very lucky and meaningful. August 13th, 2022 - Cory and I made a decision of becoming sober of alcohol! That summer we had some incidents involving alcohol that had caused us very unnecessary drama to our relationship, that nearly put a end to our relationship. But that day, we sat down and talked and told each other that our relationship is far more important to us than anything else in this entire world. (Besides our children, obvi.) August 13th, 2024 we celebrated our 2 year anniversary of still being sober to this day! When all of the excitement of just getting engaged calmed down a bit, we started deciding on when we wanted our big day. Trying to plan around our kids' schedules.. etc. But then it hit us. September 13th, 2025 lands on a Saturday & neither of us wanted a weekday wedding. It was decided. We liked the idea of keeping the 13th as an anniversary date. Ironically, also, 3 of our girls started soccer this year. When we finally got all of their jerseys, we realized that all 3 girls are number 13 as well. That's when it hit us, 13 is MEANT for us. 13 is OUR lucky number!
