Montespertoli, nestled in the heart of Tuscany, truly encapsulates the essence of the region with its scenic landscapes, rich history, and authentic Italian culture. This charming town, which dates back to medieval times, offers visitors a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of more tourist-heavy destinations like Florence or Siena, yet remains close enough to explore those cities easily. Known for its production of Chianti and other fine wines, Montespertoli is surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive groves that stretch out across the hillsides, making it an ideal spot for wine lovers and anyone seeking to experience Tuscany’s agricultural traditions. The town itself retains its historical charm, with cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and rustic farmhouses dotting the landscape. In addition to the natural beauty and history, the local food culture is a major highlight. Visitors can enjoy traditional Tuscan dishes, often made with fresh, locally grown produce, and experience local markets where artisans sell everything from fresh bread and cheeses to handmade crafts. The town also boasts a number of historic estates and castles, some of which are still in use today, adding to the timeless charm of the area. Montespertoli offers the perfect blend of relaxation, culture, and natural beauty, making it a wonderful base for exploring the rest of Tuscany’s treasures. Whether you're savoring the local wine, wandering through the countryside, or soaking in the medieval ambiance, it’s a place that captures the soul of rural Tuscany. We recommend arriving at least one day before the wedding day and exploring the area or some of the nearby cities!
Vova is biased because Rome is one of his favorite city in the world, so he would always recommend a stay in Rome! If you are planning to travel to South Italy, like Amalfi we recommend flying in or out of Rome. Other notable areas in South Italy, such as Puglia, Bari, Sicily or Calabria can be reached by any Italian airport. If you are planning to travel to North Italy, like the Dolomites, Lake Como, Portofino, Venice, Switzerland or even the South of France, we recommend flying in and out of Milan. Please note, that you can plan your trip directly to or from Tuscany by flying in or out of Pisa or Florence. Usually this means making a connection depending on where you are flying from.
The dress code for the wedding day is black-tie. Black tie usually refers to a tux or suit for the gentlemen and floor-length dresses for women. We just want you to have fun with it—feel free to add color, be bold and embrace Italian glamour. Ladies: we highly recommend block heels as it is very common for all Italian venues to have fine gravel in many areas of the ceremony and outdoor dinner area. All dancing will be on a dance floor.
Pool party attire! By this we mean bring a bathing suit or wear it with shirts, dresses or cover-ups! There will be an Italian pizza chef, music playing and a large pool for everyone to jump in. This is meant to be more relaxed and for us to embrace the Italian way of life—enjoying time with loved ones sipping a spritz.
Yes! Some great day trips from Montespertoli are below. Pisa—to view the infamous leaning tower of Pisa. This is within a one hour drive from our venue or the recommended hotel we provided. Florence—to view the Duomo, walk along the Arno River, and experience a larger Italian city! This is a forty-minute drive. We recommend doing this during the beginning or end of your stay if you are traveling in/out of Florence. San Gimignano—our favorite! If you are looking for some romance, this is the place! As you explore, you'll find that the town isn't just a museum of the past, it’s a living, vibrant place. Beyond the medieval architecture, San Gimignano offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside—rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves that stretch for miles, creating a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. Whether you're strolling through its historic streets, visiting the many art galleries and museums, or simply enjoying the panoramic views from the town's towers, San Gimignano offers a timeless experience, capturing the essence of Tuscany’s medieval past while providing modern-day pleasures. If you find yourself in this city, make sure to stop by Gelateria Dondoli for some world champion gelato (no seriously, they are ranked second in the world for gelato)!
Our wedding planners composed a long list of villas and private properties that are close to our wedding venue. If you are traveling as a family or just wish to have more space and do not wish to stay at the hotel, please reach out to us and we will send you this list of options. Please note, this option is better suited for those not needing roundtrip transportation the day of the wedding and the following day for the pizza party.
