One of our favorite spots, and where we met for the very first time! Check out this park's trails, playground, adorable picnic areas, Lithia Creek, and multiple duck ponds. Precious memories exist for us in the large Sycamore Grove, where we split our leftovers the day after our first date... clearly we couldn't get enough!
Oregon's only National Park and the deepest lake in North America. You'll never forget how blue it is. Last summer, we took Chuck up there and enjoyed driving around the rim, hiking down to the lake, and Victoria was even brave enough to jump in. They also offer trolly tours and a boat tour. Great for a day trip, or for an overnight!
If outdoor fun is something you're into, consider either a guided rafting trip down the Rogue River from Shady Cove or Gold Hill, or a ride on the Hellgate Jetboat Excursions! Pack your sunscreen!
Great spot for a quick run, walk, or hike in the Medford area, and hands down some of the best views you'll get of the whole Rogue Valley in one spot.
2Hawk is another winery we enjoy together. It is situated in the heart of the Rogue Valley, in a place some may even dub the Mid-Valley, where the commute time is average and the people are pretty nice. If that tag line catches on, I'll take the credit 🙋🏼♀️
It's not just because Victoria goes way back with the owners... this place is delish! Kurt's go-to is the Herbivore burger, and Victoria typically takes too long to pick out what sounds the best (it's all so good!). Both agree that the Rogue Runner is top pick for the beer!
This little Italian restaurant is our spot for a special night out. We went here on our first date (good pick, Kurt!) and on the day we confirmed that there was in fact a little baby with a heartbeat growing away (thanks, Annie)! Servings are pretty generous and it even makes for good leftovers... our second date!
A very casual drink and dining option, and probably the spot we frequent the most. The french fries and tots come loaded in generous portions, and you're bound to find a beer, wine or spirit on the menu to quench your thirst.
Where do you go when you don't want the first date to end, but you've already taken care of the dinner check? Brickroom! We'll never forget cozying up to one another at one of the back tables. There are other memorable things about this spot as well, like the breakfast, the dirty fries, and according to Anne Tornatore-Pili, the French 75's.
Knowing Kurt means knowing how much he loves coffee. This was his OG coffee spot upon landing in Medford. Not bad, for Medford.
Probably the best chance you have for improving a bad day for Victoria. Or the best way to celebrate a good day. Or to reward yourself for a workout. Or to catch up with friends. Griffin Creek Coffee plus a Manna from Heaven pastry... simply the best for any occasion.
