Be aware that when you leave baggage claim at the airport, you will walk through glass doors which lead you through a hallway of timeshare promoters. They are very creative with their sales pitches and gifts offered. DO NOT feel inclined to stop to chat. They may try to convince you that you need to speak to them in order to get a taxi/uber. There is NOBODY you are required to speak with until you are all the way OUTSIDE of the building!!! DO NOT talk to anyone in the airport offering free shots, timeshares etc. Keep walking straight out of the airport to the official taxi line/uber or book transportation ahead of time.
There are various options to travel from the airport to the hotel. Again, please be sure to completely exit the airport OUTSIDE (feel that PV sun on your skin!!!) even if you've already booked prior transportation. 1. Taxis are by far the cheapest option. **It is the norm** to pay cash up front/at the beginning. Look out for a sign that breaks down the cost as you exit the PV airport. On average, for a 1-3 passenger car, the cost would be about $21 USD. Garza Blanca is located in Zone 3. 2. Ubers are readily available at the airport as well. Expect to walk to a ride-share pick up area at the airport. Use the Uber app like you normally would. 3. Booking transport through the hotel. Give the hotel a call to set up private transport. The cost for 2 people one way would be $55USD. 4. Feel free to set up your own private transport. This option would be cheaper if you have more than 2 people. My wedding planner recommended 2 different companies - VIP Vallarta Transportation https://www.vipvallartatransportation.com/ ($90 USD for a van for 1-6 people) You can submit a request through the website. - Embeleso http://embeleso.com/en/home/
No, as of now Mexico does not require a COVID test to enter the country. BUT, we are kindly requesting everyone to be tested prior to arriving to Mexico to ensure the safety of all our guests.
YES, all air passengers traveling to the US are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery. Airlines must confirm the negative test result or documentation of recovery for all passengers before boarding.
There are a variety of ways to get a COVID test in Puerto Vallarta. However, the easiest option would be through the hotel which offers COVID tests for guests which will cost guests about $30 USD. You can make an appointment for a test at check-in.
The weather in April is usually mild for Mexico! Highs of 86 degrees with lows of 66 degrees. Rainy season in Puerto Vallarta doesn't start until July so fingers crossed it'll be clear skies as all wedding events will be held outside.
While you're not required to tip with the all-inclusive package, the service throughout the resort is phenomenal. We recommend getting some pesos to tip on the resort. You also may want some pesos if you leave the resort. You can also tip with dollars, they'll appreciate it since the dollar goes so much further in Mexico.
The gated resort is pretty spread out with five buildings on the property. Some of the buildings are close to the beach and there are additional towers and buildings which are set back and up the mountain a bit. The entire resort is walkable but do remember that the hotel is spread out on a hill/mountain so there are hills and stairs involved! Alternatively, there are trolleys which can take you from one building to another. After you check-in, the bell service will take your luggage. If your room is in a tower, the bell service will take you on a trolley to your building and they'll escort you to your room. The trolleys run all day and go to every building on the resort and should arrive every 3-5 minutes.
While we encourage you to book your room early, we want you to be aware of how things work. When you reserve your room, you are charged for one night of your stay -- this is non-refundable. The remaining amount will be charged at check in.
