We started as mutual art friends from rival art schools. When we finally decided to date we made a pact to go on ten serious dates, five each to come up and impress the other with. We went ice skating, played laser tag, brought each other to our favorite childhood hiking spots. The ten dates were such a success, that we moved in together after a short five months because we just knew. In a year we decided to take the leap and move across the country to Chicago. We've learned a lot, grew a lot and have always been lucky to have our solid base of friendship keeping us strong.
2020 was a difficult year for many to say the least. On this day Addison and Vivian still decided to celebrate their 5-year anniversary, privately at home. Vivian battled whether proposing during such a tumultuous time in human rights history and a pandemic. She asked for the sage advice from her brother-in law who told her that even in the darkest and hardest of times we need love and happiness to get us through. So, Vivian proposed that morning to Addison holding their annual scrapbook reminiscing about the past and dreaming about their future. Addison said yes, they hugged, they cried, and then they ate some crab in a bag.
