You might be thinking that Vivian and Adam’s journey together began in January of 2022 at a Fischer party, but their paths had crossed many times before then. Vivian likes to think their story began back when she was in high school and Adam was in college and they would both be at a mutual friend’s apartment. They were in the same room together, but did not really know each other on a personal level. And let’s be honest, high school Vivian and Adam were very different and most likely would have never dated. However, she remembers Adam and always thought he was a funny guy who made her laugh, but didn’t think about him much more than that. On the other hand, Adam didn’t really know Vivian or remember her until September of 2021 when they were both at Kate and Alex Papin’s wedding where Vivian caught Adam’s eye and the invisible string tying them together began to shorten. Now we get to January 2022 when one of Vivian’s best friends changed everything for her. It was at the infamous “white trash” themed party where Adam was in a cut off flannel, Jeans that could barely be considered pants, and boots.. oh, and he was rocking a Mohawk! That very night, one of Vivian’s best friends, Claire, who is also Adam’s cousin, brought her the idea of dating Adam. After that the script flipped for Vivian and Adam was no longer just Claire’s cousin, he was someone who had dating potential. They’re not sure who started the conversation at the white trash party, but they began talking and hit it off with discovering their commonalities. Vivian didn’t dress up for the white trash theme, which set Adam up perfectly with a pickup line, “You don’t look trashy.. You look classy.” Vivian doesn’t remember it but Adam believes it was a critical piece to the start of their relationship. A few weeks passed by and although Adam stubbornly resisted the subtle pushes from family members to pursue Vivian, God brought them together when they almost bumped into each other in the doorway of the shop during the Fischer Fish Fry. They talked most of the night and the next day Adam slid into Vivian’s DMs. Fast forward to March 2022, they had their first date and it was perfect! Not long after beginning to date, they made their relationship official! For the Spring and Summer of 2022 they made the distance between Ste. Gen and St. Louis work with countless hang outs and getting acquainted with friends. Once Vivian moved to St. Louis, the two were inseparable, spending most of their time together as they fell in love! As their relationship grew, so did their adventures together. Together they explored new cities, went hiking, skiing, and relaxed at the beach. Although they’ve had some pretty amazing adventures together, the best one overall has been finding an amazing church community and deepening their faith as Christians. Shout out to Luke and Katelyn Steagall for welcoming them to Oak Bridge with open arms! The next thing they knew, it’s February of 2024, Adam set up a getaway to a cute little cabin in St. Charles under the guise of celebrating Vivian’s birthday, but once they arrived at the cabin, he surprised Vivian with an engagement ring. She of course said yes and it turned into a celebration for their engagement! Within just a couple weeks of being engaged, they found a house in Oakville that was a perfect fit for them and together they bought their first home. They really have come a long way over the years! All the way from strangers who happened to share a friend in common, to bumping into each other time and time again, then starting their relationship while living an hour away from each other, moving nearby in St. Louis, walking together in their faith journey with Christ, getting engaged and buying a house! Now after that whirlwind of a few years, they’re ready to get married and start the next chapter of their lives!
