Kelsey and I met after what seemed to be a routine soccer night in our home town, until it wasn't. I noticed her on the sidelines and from that point forward, the emotions I felt when I was around her were different. I knew after talking with her that night, she would eventually be my wife. I tried to pull every move I had to win her over. For example, one of our first dates she locked herself out of her house, which gave me the opportunity to climb up the second story balcony, take my shirt off and save the day. From that point I was ready to be with her forever, but instead of proposing I decided to ask her to be my girlfriend. I took her to her favorite beach, and over the sunset she said she wasn't ready to be in a relationship yet. It hurt my pride and didn't sit well with my family, but my decision was already made, so it didn't stop me. This did result in me making her wait over a year before I asked her out again, and that didn't go as planned either, but I was successful and got a yes from her on the top of Cowles Mountain and we got a sweet selfie when it happened. Fast forward to the best three years of my life thus far, my patience and persistence was about to pay off when I decided to propose. I had to pick a fitting time to propose that worked well with she had asked of me. Kelsey had mentioned that due to her sister getting asked to be married in 2017, I had to wait until 2018 to ask her. I wanted to respect her request, and in addition back in 2017 I wasn't able to go out with her on New Years so I told her, “This year, let's get extra”. On the night of the proposal, because we've made prior memories at the Hotel Del Coronado I thought it was fitting. I disguised the night due to our lack of 2017 New Years experience. So at 12:01 A.M., at a black-tie party at the Hotel Del, the singer asked us to come on stage while our friends and family snuck in to see and record me pulling the ring out of my sock to give it to my future wife.
