They met in high school due to Derrick being friend's with Macy's step-brother Michael. Derrick was at the wedding of Macy's dad and step-mom in 2006. Macy remembers thinking he looked so cute dancing in his blue, long sleeved button down Polo!

How me met

Macy was in Washington DC with her mom for a girl's trip. Derrick surprised Macy in DC in their hotel lobby as she and her mom were walking out to go to lunch. Derrick spent the day with them in DC and then popped the question in front of the Lincoln Memorial that night!
