During my freshman year at a new high school, I joined a sophomore biology class and was eager to make new friends. I was a cheerleader, and between football games and cheer practice, I became friends with Matt Petersen, who just so happens to be one of our best friends today. Matt casually mentioned that Jack and I should date, which made us both laugh at the time. A little while later, I started asking Jack for the answers to our biology homework… even though little did he know, I had already finished it. Those quick exchanges over homework soon turned into conversations we never wanted to end. Within days, we knew there was something special between us. At 15 and 16, most people told us it wouldn’t last. But here we are, all these years later, proving them wrong in the best way possible.
