Growing up in a small town meant that you were most likely going to attend elementary school, community functions, sporting events, and even accomplish life achievements with practically every kid from your neighborhood. It was in the 2nd grade that I first had a crush on John. That same year, I remember being nervous to invite him to my 8th birthday party. As we grew up, we shared the same circle of friends. I cheered for his football team and he even brought me along to buddy day at what ended up being our mutual high school. It was during these years that John became more than just a boy I had a crush on when I was little but he became my best friend. At 17, we didn’t know where that friendship would lead us, but 14 years later, here we are, inviting all of you to Mexico to share in celebrating our special day.
John was adamant about taking one last trip before Summer 2019 came to an end. With that being said, we booked a cruise to Alaska, what John referred to as "a once in a lifetime experience." On the morning of August 20th, we pulled into port in Juneau, Alaska, ready for a day full of excursions: our first helicopter ride to visit and walk on Herbert Glacier. Upon landing on the glacier, we were blown away by the breathtaking blue ice and did everything that we could to get the best photo op for the "GRAM." As we walked around searching for the most fitting backdrop, I heard, "Lisa" and when I turned around, there he was, on one knee. To say the least, he was right. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. We hope to see you in Mexico!
