After attending the same college together, going to [a few of] the same fraternity/sorority parties, and having many mutual friends..Edgar and Jessica’s love story started a few years after graduation in Old Town, Alexandria. While out on the town with their roommates, Edgar and Jessica coincidentally ran into each other at a local bar and soon realized they were next door neighbors! Eventually, Edgar asked Jessica out on their first date – he decided on Gravelly Point, a local park right next to Reagan National’s landing strip. Edgar came fully prepared – with queso and boxed wine in hand (the true way to her heart). They sat and watched the airplanes fly in, enjoyed the sunset and even debated whether the OG Southwest colors were yellow or orange.
One Saturday morning in March Edgar pulled off the most unexpected and heartfelt surprise when he asked Jessica to marry him. On their way to Georgetown to meet “a few” friends for brunch Edgar convinced Jessica to make one quick pit stop at the Lincoln Memorial to go to the “gift shop”. After insisting they interrupt the George Washington University squash team’s photoshoot (!) for a selfie, Edgar took her by complete shock when he dropped down to one knee and proposed. He had everything planned to a tee – Jessica’s mom was (literally) hiding in the crowd, friends had traveled in to surprise her at brunch and the surprises continued on at Bull Run winery. Everyone knew the plan, except Jessica. She was truly in awe of the entire day. On September 16th, 2022 they’ll be dancing the night away celebrating their marriage with all of their loved ones. They can’t wait to join their families and spend the rest of their lives together.
