Emily and Vito met in math class at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015. They spent most of this year becoming friends during weekly homework study groups with their math friends. After spending hours talking and eating pizza during a fraternity/sorority exchange, Vito asked Emily out to a local sushi restaurant for their first date. To Vito's surprise, Emily ate more rolls of sushi than he did. He realized he was in trouble. A few weeks later, on April 8th, 2015, Vito officially asked Emily to be his partner in crime. Over the next 6 years, their relationship grew more and more special, and they bonded over their love of food and travel. They were able to take vacations to Spain, Mexico, New York, Boston, Traverse City, and countless other cities across the country. Realizing he needed someone who ate just as much as he did, Vito proposed to Emily in November 2020 at the Chicago Botanic Garden. They're beyond excited to continue their lives together and celebrate their upcoming wedding with friends and family. The ceremony and reception will both be held at Independence Grove in Libertyville, IL on June 25th, 2022. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
