Our story begins with a night out in Omaha. My friend Elizabeth had just moved back and wanted to meet up with her then-boyfriend (now husband!), Dylan, and his friend. When we got to the bar, Dylan introduced me to his friend… “Horse.” Naturally, I had a few jokes about that. We spent the whole night with friends, and while I had a feeling he was interested, he never asked for my number. So, fueled by a little liquid courage, I asked Elizabeth to pass mine along to him. The next day, I hadn't heard anything and was fully convinced I had embarrassed myself. But later that night, I got a text from an unknown number. At last—the poetry I'd been waiting for: "Hey it's Logan from last night." Not wanting to be outdone by such masterful wordsmithing, I replied: "Hey Logan from last night." And honestly, the rest is history. We had our first date five days later, and since that day, we’ve never gone more than five days without seeing each other. Over time, we built a life together filled with travel, new adventures, and all the everyday moments that matter most. From the very beginning, I’ve always said my favorite thing about Logan is how steady and consistent he is. He likes to joke that it makes him sound boring, but over the years, that steadiness has meant everything. Through career changes, busy seasons, and all of life’s unexpected twists and turns, Logan has always been calm, grounded, and unwavering, even when I wasn’t. It’s one of the many reasons I’ve always known I could trust him completely. So when he suggested a quick trip to Lauritzen Gardens one morning, even though we were hosting a big Memorial Day party for all our friends just a few hours later, I wasn’t exactly thrilled, but I trusted him and we went anyway. While we were there, our friends Nate and Lois asked us to take a photo of them in the rose garden. Then they offered to take one of us. Nate, who just so happens to be a photographer, pulled out his camera, and I laughed, “Oh! You brought the big dog camera!” (a very on-brand comment for me). When I turned around, Logan was on one knee, steady and consistent as always, asking me to marry him. I let out a very excited squeal (shown below!), loud enough that a couple across the garden heard and started cheering. And of course, I said yes… and here we are now! We’re so excited to begin this next chapter together and celebrate it with the people we love most. Can’t wait to see you on October 24th!
