Brady and Emma met again at their best friends' house in Pacific Beach on a Friday night in January, just a few days before Brady's 26th birthday, after not seeing each other since the Halloween before. Brady had texted his friend confirming Emma was single before he left for training trips and then the holidays. Emma picked up on some sort of a crush when they kept stealing looks and sending smirks at the start of the night. The group started to walk to go dancing at the bars and they started up a conversation, sticking behind the group to flirt. At the end of the night, all Emma wanted was a hot dog, but Brady insisted she let the group take the Uber home, and they would walk together back to their friends'. In one mile up Misson Blvd. they got through all the "first date" questions, laughing and teasing and bumping shoulders the whole way. When they arrived back on Sapphire St., before Brady opened the door to join everyone inside, he told Emma how he made her smile and laugh in a way he wasn't used to. Emma waited until he turned around to walk inside to completely melt! Brady asked for her number on his birthday, and the next day invited her to a hockey game. While Brady was in town, there weren't any days they spent apart since. Emma's golden retriever Copper had given his approval. When you know, you know. Brady and Emma moved in together to Emma's 400 sq. ft. studio apartment in Ocean Beach, San Diego as soon as Brady got back from his first month-long trip. She couldn't stand a morning without a goodbye kiss before work. In August 2022, Emma and Brady moved to Virginia Beach, VA and in January 2023 bought their first home in Norfolk, VA.

Brady asked Emma to marry him in Buttonwoods, RI, Emma's home and favorite place in the world. Emma first brought Brady home there Labor Day 2022 and they joked after the trip, they'd get married there. Even more perfect, Brady woke Emma up early the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and suggested they "check out the beach". Brady almost twisted his ankle on a rock, the ring almost fell into the sand, but it was the most perfect and completing moment. They walked back to Emma's mom's house and told her the good news, making their rounds the rest of the morning and celebrating with friends the rest of the weekend.

Forever started June 30th 2023 at the Norfolk City Courthouse. Emma wore an off-white dress, Brady wore a black polo. The silliest story came out of a Friday afternoon before the Fourth of July weekend mad-dash to get it done before the Marriage Commissioner left for the holiday. Afterwards, they snapped some film photos in their yard and then went to their favorite restaurant, Captain Groovy's for fruity drinks and a cheers while calling family to tell them the good news. Followed by a basketball game at the park before the rain came rolling in, sporting their new rings. Brady's family and life-long friends arrived a couple days later for a dual-celebration of Fourth of July festivities and to kick-off their married life with a big sleepover in Emma and Brady's home. Now, they can't wait to celebrate with ALL the people who shaped the love of their lives on March 23, 2024.
