Hi, I’m Miriam, and I’m so honored to be Virina’s Maid of Honor! We’ve known each other since we were kids, growing up together through swim lessons, gymnastics, and so many stages of life in between. From childhood memories to sharing a room on a cruise together (that was fun), she has become so much more than a friend to me — she’s truly my sister. Watching Virina and Nicholas together, makes me so excited for what’s to come. It’s such a blessing to witness their love and to stand by her side as she begins this beautiful new chapter. Oh and I guess I get a brother out of this too so that’s cool!

Just a few years ago he was defeating me in basement handball and now he’s getting married to one of my favorite people. Hey everyone!!!:)) I’m alex hosny, also known as 1/2 of the reason virina first heard the name nicholas moawad (they’re getting married btw, it’s on my resume) Virina has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old (ifykyk #bluerobechoir) and managed to see every chapter of our lives once I came back to st marys. And ultimately fiancé nick became a group friend name since they first met. It’s one of God’s greatest blessings I have received to now see my sister become one with the one she loves. From sleepovers for Kiahk, watermelon hair clips, combined st mark and st mary hangouts to today the year of the wedding, I am unceasingly thankful to be a part of it! Can’t wait to celebrate and dance it out:) I’m watching all of you (guests) to celebrate together the beautiful bride and groom! Let’s get ready for the most beautiful day to come!

My name is Max Assaad, and I am 23 years old. I have lived in Chicago and been a member of St. Mark’s Coptic Church my whole life. Nick has been one of my best friends since before either of us could speak. Our friendship grew over football weekends to U of I, watching horror movies at sleepovers, and constantly challenging each other at ping pong. I met Virina much later than I met Nick, but in that time we’ve made several (hilarious) memories and I know the best of our friendship is yet to come with the both of them getting married. I am so happy and excited to watch all the ways God will bless their lives, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.

Virina and I have gone through so many stages of life together we’ve practically seen it all. Our friendship started when we coincidentally sat next to each other at a sweet sixteen. From then on it was almost impossible not to become best friends. From college together where i would escape the freshman dorms only for her to find me sitting in her apartment before she even got there, living right across the parking lot where her couch became the safest place of all (man if those walls could talk), eating kimchi at 2am while uncontrollably laughing about God knows what, to watching her fall in love with the person made for her. How lucky am I. Nick and I grew up in the same church but never really crossed paths till we became st mary groupies together in high school. From then on it was always the most interesting experiences. From getting stranded on the side of the road after popping his tire because he was chasing the wind to him falling asleep while i was driving him home then waking up to ask me who’s birthday it is and if they’re a dentist. I dont know what that means either. Will always be jealous of Nick because he gets to have unlimited sleepovers with my babooshka. The most perfect people made for each other and I got to watch it all unfold. So blessed to be standing beside you both.

The first time I met Nicholas was in the womb, and he has been a role model ever since. From teaching me how to make orban and wear a badrashein to putting me on the two-finger hot cheeto strat, I have learned a lot from this man. Nicholas has always been a part of my best memories: childhood vacations to Europe, our first job as bussers, ping pong till sunrise, tons of mission trips, our forsaken trip to Clearwater, and consistently breaking into the churches roof. I had the pleasure of formally meeting Virina on HouseParty in 2020, where we regularly engaged in joint ab workouts, the cinnamon challenge, and hate speech. I love Nick and Virina so so much, and I am honored to be a part of their celebration. May God bless you both 100 times over.

Virina has always been my second sibling. The littler sister I didn’t want (just kidding). From thanksgiving sleepovers so we could go Black Friday shopping together to the random wedding questions I get from her weekly, I look back on our relationship and marvel at how things have changed and how far she’s come. Virina is the adventurous, silly, and spontaneous person you live vicariously through and admire from afar. I always loved hearing about all her adventures and seeing the person she’s become. Nick is the perfect addition to Virina’s life. The love he has for her is heartwarming and I can see how happy he makes her. I am honored to stand by them both on their wedding day!

Growing up with our huge family I’ve always been grateful for Virina even though I was one of the younger cousins she was EVEN younger so that meant some of the bullying got redirected to her. In my free time, I enjoy staying active through running and weightlifting, and I take pride in my cooking.

Hi everyone! Julia Mansour here — Virina’s twin (as pointed out by too many), best friend, & original wifey (Nicholas…I was here first 😉). We grew up as sisters, & ever since she moved back home from college & endured my board-exam study sessions at the Ela Public Library we’ve been emotionally bonded & unfortunately can’t go a single week without seeing each other. Virina & I will forever be bonded by our shared love of desserts, Spanish music, the beach, all things service, and occasional existential crises sprinkled in our daily voice notes.
